HART HOME Jerran Hart has been discharged from Ipswich to continue his long recuperation period at home after sustaining a broken ankle, split heel and broken wrist in a recent crash at Redcar, injuries that have ruled him out of the crucial run-in to the play-offs.
Hart has been overwhelmed by the number of get well messages he has received and told Bournemouth manager Garry May "I would like to thank everyone who has sent me messages of support, things like that a real boost. I am feeling a little bit sore still but can now get around on crutches a bit. I am just so gutted that I will miss the chance to see the season out with Bournemouth and Scunthorpe (for whom Hart rides for in the Premier league). It is my intention to try and get along to the meeting at King's Lynn on September 12th, just to try and do my bit and get behind the lads in what seems to be a must-win match for Bournemouth".
Hart is indeed correct as Bournemouth currently sit in 4th position but their remaining home matches fall beyond the cut-off date as things presently stand and with Plymouth and Rye House both close enough to overhaul Bournemouth's 27 points attained so far, then a four point haul from King's Lynn would be vital towards sealing that final play-off position

Revised Date for Double Header Bournemouth Buccanneers will now stage their double header meeting, against King's Lynn followed by Rye House on Sunday September 19th with a start time for the first meeting at 2.30pm. The Rye House meeting will follow on directly.

Meeting OFF Bournemouth's scheduled double header fixture has been POSTPONED due to the weather. The Buccaneers were due to entertain King's Lynn at 2.30pm and then Rye House but the poor weather put paid to any hopes of the meetings going ahead.
It is likely that the double header will be re-staged on Sunday September 26th, but this date is subject to confirmation.

Title Goes On the Line By early evening Sunday the Bournemouth Buccaneers could have a lot clearer picture of their chances of defending their league title. With two matches this afternoon (2.30pm) the Buccaneers will complete their home league programme and team boss Garry May is demanding maximum points from the session.
"There are 6 points today up for grabs and we need all 6 of them as that would effectively mean that Rye House or Plymouth would need to win their away matches which would be a tough call, if they were to catch us. We would be able to make it even harder if when we go to King's Lynn on September 12th we were to win ourselves. But right now we need to focus on doing a decent home job and I think that if we just up our game from the outset then we are well capable of protecting our proud home record. I have called up Lee Smart to guest for us in both meetings following the cruel injury to Jerran (Hart) and I know that he is a class act and can do the business for us."
Bournemouth's double header begins with the encounter against King's Lynn , a side that has only once picked up away points this season but counted for nothing as that was a 50-43 win over Mildenhall, a result that has subsequently been expunged from the records following Mildenhall's closure. Guest rider Jake Armstrong will represent King's Lynn in place of the unavailable Simon Lambert.
After that fixture attentions turn to trying to put distance between the Buccaneers and one of their main rivals for that all-important play-off spot, Rye House.
The Cobras still have four home matches remaining, which could net them 12 more points, and a trip to the Isle of Wight (maximum four points).
Even if Bournemouth maximise their available points today they may still not climb a place in the division should Buxton maintain their 2010 unbeaten home record against Scunthorpe.
Jerran Hart has been transferred from Redcar Hospital to Ipswich to continue his recovery from a broken wrist, ankle and split heel and anyone wishing to send a card can send it to 268, Ravenswood Drive, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP3 9TQ.

Smart Move By May Bournemouth team manager Garry May has moved swiftly to book the services of Lee Smart for Sunday's vital double header event at Wimborne Road.
Smart will cover for the injured Jerran Hart who sustained multiple injuries in a track crash at Redcar on Thursday and May has extended his thanks to Dudley rider Smart for agreeing to step into the breach. "Lee is a rider that I rate quite highly and I am grateful to him for accepting the booking at such short notice. It is hard trying to find a rider of Jerran's calibre but I really think that Lee fits the bill perfectly enough"

Hart's Season Over Bournemouth have been rocked by the news that Jerran Hart's season is over after an horrific crash in a rain-lashed meeting at Redcar on Thursday night
Hart was thrown over the safety fence and collided with a post in the pits area sustaining a split heel, broken wrist, facial and other injuries. He was taken to Redcar hospital where early reports are indicating that he may need two to three operations during his long recover programme.
Hart, who recently re-joined Bournemouth, the club he gained league and cup double honours with last season, after Mildenhall closed down, will be a hard rider to replace and team manager Garry May is actively seeking a guest replacement for Sunday's double header against King's Lynn and Rye House (2.30pm)

Important Sunday for Buccaneers Bournemouth Castle Cover Wessex Marine Buccaneers could put themselves very much in the driving seat for the 4th play-off spot on Sunday if they can collect maximum points from the back-to-back matches against King's Lynn and Rye House.
6 points from the day would move Bournemouth on to 33 league points, with a visit to King's Lynn on 12th September still to come. But crucially it would leave Rye House needing to collect maximum home points from their remaining four meetings AND earn something on the Isle of Wight if they were to claim that all-important 4th place.
Should the Buccaneers deliver those 6 points on Sunday then the only other side that could mathematically catch them would be Plymouth but they would need to win two of their three remaining away fixtures and earn at least a draw in the other. Those trips take the Devils to Dudley, King's Lynn and Rye House

The first meeting will feature the Buccaneers against King's Lynn with tapes up at 2.30pm and then after completion of that match the opposition will change to the Rye House Cobras

Block on Hart Denies Vital Point for Buccs Bournemouth Buccaneers were denied a point they would have so richly deserved at the St Boniface Arena, Plymouth on Friday when they conceded a 5-1 in the final heat, for the third successive meeting.
Trailing by just four points going into that final heat there were positive vibes that the Buccaneers could collect at least one point as they tracked big hitters James Brundle and Jerran Hart. But a controversial blocking move by Plymouth's number one Nicki Glanz on Hart left the Bournemouth star with no place to go other than hit the back straight fence.
In the eyes of the referee, Mr Ronnie Allen, who stopped the heat, Hart should have 'backed off'' and as such had the cause of the stoppage attributed to him. It was a decision that incensed team boss Garry May who was adamant that Glanz was the direct cause of Hart's fall
"The referee told me when I questioned his ruling that Jerran was attempting to go through a non-existent gap but that was a bad call. There was room for a rider to go through at the time he began his move but Glanz just moved across him and left Jerran nowhere to go other than the fence. Losing that point could turn out to be quite crucial to us and that is so frustrating for the whole team. We worked hard to keep in touch with Plymouth, knowing that pulling off a result was always going to be a tough task and I would certainly single out young James Sarjeant who did exceptionally well but to be left with just one rider in that vital heat made our task even more difficult and I remain convinced it was a wrong call, but that's speedway and we will now just have to move on and make sure we don't drop any more points now."
In the re-run of heat 15 Brundle rode his heart out trying to split the Devils but under mounting pressure Glanz found a way by to partner skipper Seemond Stephens to the one score the Buccaneers needed to avoid, a 5-1.
Glanz had been disqualified himself in the opening heat as he brought Aaron Baseby down when trying to make a pass from the back. Baseby in some discomfort was able to take his place in the heat 1 re-run and support Hart's superb win to give Bournemouth and early lead. It was immediately countered in the reserves heat, but after sharing the points in heat 3 Bournemouth forged ahead again through a Brundle win and a battling third from Sarjeant.
A rare defeat for Hart, on the wrong end of a 5-1 as Stephens and Bates foiled him in heat 5 meant the Devils moved into a slender 2 point lead themselves, Glanz and the solid scoring Jamie Pickard then doubled the advantage in heat 6 but a good ride from Mark Baseby to win heat 7, supported by a Howarth third place closed the gap up.
After a couple of shared heats a second Glanz and Pickard 4-2 enabled the home side to build on their advantage and events seemed as though they could conspire against Bournemouth as Sarjeant was penalised 15 metres in heat 11for a tapes infringement. But the 16 year old made up the handicap on Gough as Hart led and Simmonds packed up, resulting in a Bournemouth 4-2, thus restoring the margin to just 2 points in Plymouth' favour.
A fine win from Matt Bates, under strong pressure from James Sarjeant prevented Bournemouth from altering the difference but a missed gate by Hart in the mouth-watering heat 13 left the Devils claiming a valuable 4-2 through Glanz and Simmonds, with Brundle between them. Stephens took the flag in heat 14 from Mark Baseby and Sarjeant before that controversial heartbreak heat 15 finally undid the Buccaneers.

Buccaneers Face a Devil of a Meeting Bournemouth Buccaneers head west on Friday (13th August) for a vital National Development League fixture against Plymouth Devils that could help cement their play-off position.
Facing the National League pairs winners - Nikki Glanz and Mark Simmonds - Bournemouth will need to be firing on all cylinders if they are to come away with any league points from this meeting. The Devils themselves lay 7 points behind Bournemouth having been moved up a place following further distress for the Rye House Cobras who had their July result at Scunthorpe amended from an away win by more than 6 points to an away defeat by less than 7 points after fielding an ineligible rider in the form of Tyson Nelson. The Australian had score 17 points on the night but was not in possession of the necessary paperwork to make his appearance legitimate under the Regulations. The outcome of that result change has seen the Cobras lose a further 3 league points, the club having already been hit by the expunging of the Mildenhall results recently once the Fen Tigers confirmed their cessation of activities at West Row for the remainder of the season.
Whilst that provides additional breathing space for Garry May's Buccaneers the Bournemouth team manager is stressing that the fortunes of last year's league and cup double winners rest firmly in their own court. "We have got to pick up as many of the league points as possible and keep our destiny in our own hands. A win at Plymouth won't be an easy task, just look at their home results this season they have won four of their 8 matches by more than 20 points, two of those coming in their last two meetings. We need to upset that sequence, and do a Newport, who won there by 7 points."
Undoubtedly May will have his fingers crossed that his new number one Jerran Hart can replicate the form he showed at St Boniface Arena last year. A 21 point maximum in a cup visit and an 18 point maximum in the play-off final is a record that few visiting riders will be able to boast about, but there will also be an eye or two cast in the direction of young reserve Danny Stoneman who returns to the club where it all began for him in 2007. Having scored 29 points from 15 appearances last season he was released by the Devils at the start of this year , moving to his first Dorset club Weymouth before being snapped up by Bournemouth.

May Pleased with new signings' start Bournemouth Buccaneers had three unbeaten riders as late as heat 10 as they hit the Dudley Heathens hard from the off in their National Development league, but the Heathens recovered well and claimed a valuable league point that moved them to joint top of the league and left Bournemouth still perilously poised in 4th place, 5 points ahead of Rye House who have 4 matches in hand.
Lee Smart, himself beaten when on a tactical ride by Mark Baseby was the first Heathens to upset James Brundle unbeaten run with a vital heat 11 victory and then he inflicted the same agony on Jerran Hart, who was returning to the Bournemouth fold and had three hugely impressive race wins to his name, when the pair met in heat 13.
One heat later Mark Baseby's unbeaten sequence was broken when tactical rider Jake Anderson claimed a race win that putshed the Heathens into grappling distance of the consolation away point - leaving the visitors needing a 5-1 to do so, a mission that Anderson and Smart accomplished with style.
Speaking about the fightback of the Heathens, the Buccaneers team manager Garry May said "I am not that surprised to be honest. I have been watching their results and they are renowned for being strong finishers. I have to say that I really feared our 100% home record was going to be lost tonight but the new guys came in and all did their bit. James (Sarjeant) scored well and being against his old club will have pleased him no end, that's for sure. Danny (Stoneman) gained that valuable paid win to start with and Jerran did what we knew he was capable of. That said, I would like to stress the point that making the changes was no easy task and we really didn't want to break up the team that we started with but we want to defend that league title and we just fel that they we needed a little more impetus at this stage of the season. We still have a lot of work today, especially as we dropped a point tonight, but like I said it could have been worse. Dudley are a good side and deserved something for their efforts. It just means that our meeting at Plymouth on Friday becomes even more crucial for us to try and come away with a point from their. That will be tough though."

Two Tough Encounters for New Look Buccs The new look Bournemouth Castle Cover Buccaneers face two big challenges this week starting with a confrontation against the team that were denied the opportunity to go top of the National Development League just 24 hours before arriving at Wimborne Road
British Speedway's newest side, Dudley were due to race at the Isle of Wight on Tuesday but that fixture fell victim to the weather, the Heathens needing a victory (or an away draw) to take them to the top of the table.
The Wednesday visit will get underway immediately after the Poole Castle Cover Pirates Elite league fixture against Swindon and is a must win for the Buccaneers if they are to consolidate their current 4th place in the league standings. Former Dudley ride James Sarjeant will be making his official debut for the Buccaneers, the youngster released by the Heathens in favour of Mickey Dyer earlier this season, rode for Bournemouth in their away victory at Rye House but that was a guest appearance.
Sarjeant will be joined by fellow debutant Danny Stoneman in the reserve berths with their third 'new' face, Jerran Hart spearheading the Buccaneers side
A double winner in 2009 Hart is a proven points scorer and team manager Garry May is hoping that the re-introduction of Hart to the side could bolster the Buccaneers as they bid to defend their league title.
Like the Buccaneers the Heathens also acted swiftly in snatching up a Mildenhall rider, Barrie Evans joining them as a replacement for the injured Jon Armstrong, and making what will now be his debut for the club.
On Friday night the Buccaneers head west for a tough clash against the Plymouth Devils, Stoneman's former club and the venue at which Hart romped to a massive 21 point cup maximum last season.
Plymouth no doubt will be celebrating the NDL Pairs success of Nicki Glanz and Mark Simmonds who won the title last Saturday at Newport.
Team News: Bournemouth: J.Hart, A.Baseby, K.Howarth, M.Baseby, J.Brundle, J.Sarjeant, D.Stoneman

Hart Back for Buccs Bournemouth Buccaneers have made significant team changes as they look to take advantage of their 'back door entry' into a play-off position following the withdrawal of Mildenhall from the National Development League for the remainder of the 2010 season
By pulling out of the league their records have been expunged which meant Bournemouth moved into 4th place and it also made 2009 Buccaneer Jerran Hart available, an option that attracted team managers Garry May and Neil Vatcher.
They have announced that Hart will rejoin Bournemouth for the remainder of the season along with James Sarjeant and Danny Stoneman a reshuffle that sees Karl Mason, Daniel Halsey and John Resch step aside.
Team manager May said "We have been given a real opportunity now to make the play-offs and once in it we would certainly want to go all the way. Jerran is a proven points scorer home and away and we felt that we just couldn't overlook the chance to bring him back. He is really keen to come back to Bournemouth and try and play his part in us defending our league title. That said, it is hard on Karl, Dan and John who, because of the averages become victims of circumstances and it was not the sort of news we really wanted to break to them. Other teams are making changes too in an effort to strengthen up and we could ill-afford to miss the boat. Giles Hartwell and Matt Ford are both 100% behind us with these changes and that is good to know that we have their total backing. It is going to be a really tough run-in for us now. We need to maintain our proud home record and also look to gain something from our matches at Plymouth and King's Lynn.
Bournemouth's new declared 1 to 7 will be Jerran Hart 9.50; James Brundle 8.58; Kyle Howarth 6.94; Mark Baseby 6.93; Aaron Baseby 4.00; Danny Stoneman 3.00; James Sarjeant 3.00

No Buccs Glory in Pairs Ignition problems for James Brundle whilst on parade cost him an appearance in the opening heat, won by his partner Kyle Howarth but left the Buccaneers conceding points to Dudley. Although Brundle was able to sort out his bike problems in time for Bournemouth's second appearance, winning it in style, Howarth struggled against the Isle of Wight pair of Nick Simmons and Danny Warwick, and again conceded a 4-5.
against the eventual champions, Plymouth, the Buccaneers conceded a 7-2 with Brundle failing to finish and Howarth trailing winner Nicki Glanz and experienced Mark Simmonds and whilst that result kept the Devils in-line for a final appearance it meant that Bournemouth's chances of winning the group was well beyond them.
They finished, however, strongly with a 7-2 of their own against Newport (winners last season) after Tony Atkin had fallen at the first attempt to get heat 17 underway. Bournemouth's 17 point total left them third in Group A.
In the other section it was King's Lynn who came out on top with Simon Lambert unbeaten in his heats and Adam Lowe bagging one second place and two thirds as they headed the group and earned the right to meet Plymouth in the all-deciding final
That final was pretty much one way traffic as Lambert was kept at bay on the opening lap cleverly by Simmonds as Glanz sped away.
Result: Final: Plymouth 7 (N.Glanz 4 M.Simmonds 3') King's Lynn 2 (S.Lambert 2, A.Lowe 0)
Group A: Plymouth 24 (N.Glanz 14, M.Simmonds 10+2); Newport 19 (T.Kurtz 13, T.Atkin 6+1); Bournemouth 17 (K.Howarth 9+1, J.Brundle 8); Dudley 16 (J.Anderson 11+1, M.Dyer 5); Isle of Wight 14 (N.Simmons 9, D.Warwick 5+1)
Group B: King's Lynn 23 (S.Lambert 16, A.Lowe 7); Buxton 21 (A.Allott 15, R.Branford 6+2); Weymouth 20 (J.Cockle 12+1, B.Bekker 8+1); Scunthorpe 17 (S.Worrall 10, A.Birks 7+1); Rye House 9 (J.Jacobs 6, S.Hazelden 3)

Fixture Change Bournemouth's planned double header on Sunday August 22nd will still go ahead with Rye House the second attraction on that date in a real crucial play-off chasing contest. The Cobras were originally set to visit Wimborne Road a week later but the visit has bee brought forward 7 days.
It will be a vital Sunday afternoon for the Bournemouth Buccaneers who need to maximise their home points and try and pick up something on their remaining away fixtures (Plymouth August 13th, King's Lynn date to be confirmed) if they are to consolidate their current fourth place in the National Development league.
Rivals Rye House have home fixtures against Isle of Wight, Newport, Plymouth and Scunthorpe and besides the trip to Bournemouth they still have to visit Buxton, Dudley and Isle of Wight

Bournemouth Set to Rise With the news that Mildenhall Fen Tigers have officially been withdrawn from the National Development League with immediate effect the Bournemouth Buccaneers are set to climb above Rye House in the league table.
The Buccaneers picked up no points against Mildenhall on the one occasion the two side met this year and therefore their points tally will be unafffected. However, Rye House enjoyed a home win over Mildenhall and also claimed the away point for a less than 7 point defeat when the sides fought out 48-42 contest at West Row.
Those lost four points for the Cobras will reduce their tally to 22 points, three lower than Bournemouth's 25 although Rye House will have three matches in hand.
The withdrawal of Mildenhall will now see the Buccaneers home meeting on Sunday 22nd August revert to a single meeting with King's Lynn the opposition

Howarth Steps Up in Grade Kyle Howarth has been the latest capture by Premier League club Somerset Rebels. Howarth has made a number of guest appearances for the Rebels this year, particularly impressing in scoring paid 10 at Berwick at the end of May and only last Friday finished 3rd in the British under-18 Championship that was held at Somerset’s Oak Tree Arena track.
16 year-old Howarth, joins the Rebels on loan as a replacement for Jake Anderson, who ironically was called in to replace Howarth's Bournemouth team-mate Mark Baseby earlier in the season.
Howarth will make his Somerset debut in Sunday’s Premier League match at Newport before lining up for the Rebels in their televised home encounter against Glasgow the following evening, but before that he will be 50% of the Bournemouth representation on Saturday afternoon in the National League pairs, partnering James Brundle at the Newport venue

Buccs Ship Run Aground Bournemouth Castle Cover Wessex Marine Buccaneers ran aground on the Isle of Wight on Tuesday night, incurring the biggest defeat in their short history, going down by 32-60 and having both the Baseby brothers withdrawing from the meeting with injuries.
Mark Baseby was the first of the siblings to pull out of the meeting, damaging his wrist in a heat 6 fall by which time the Buccaneers were alreaday facing a 10 point deficit and had seen just two extra points from their first tactical ride. That was through a second place by James Brundle comprehensively beaten by maximum man, former Buccaneer Danny Warwick.
Then Aaron Baseby joined the ever growing list of retirees after being a victim of a challenging move from Brendan Johnson in heat 9. Johnson was disqualified from the re-run but promptly joined Tom Hill on the sick list and although Aaron Baseby managed to limp round for a point in the re-start his night was over as he was struggling with a thigh injury.
The powerful Islanders though - claiming 9 maximum heat scores across the night - were always in control and the lack of league points from the Dorset side could prove costly in the final reckonings for the play-offs. Scorers: Isle of Wight D.Warwick 15, D.Felton 13+6, B.Hopwood 13+1, N.Simmons 7+1, L.Smethills 7+1, T.Hill 3, B.Johnson 2+1
Bournemouth K.Howarth 7+1, J.Brundle 7, K.Mason 7, J.Resch 5+1, A.Baseby 4+1, D.Halsey 2+1, M.Baseby 0

Buccaneers Cross the Seas to Cross the Swords Swashbuckling Bournemouth Castle Cover Wessex Marine Buccaneers cross the Solent tonight (Tuesday 3rd August) for a crucial National Development league tie against the Isle of Wight Islanders (7.30pm).
With the Buccaneers having won their last two away matches they will boosted by the fact that the Islanders have already lost three times at home in the league this season. But with newly crowned British U18 champion Brendan Johnson and former Bournemouth rider Danny Warwick both in opposition the Buccaneers know that they will need to be at their keenest if they are to extend that away sequence of victories.
"We could do with a 4-point win" said Garry May "but it won't be easy. When the Islanders have won they have won big and made recent changes, nbut it is these sort of meetings where we need to pick up the points. The play-offs isn't beyond us still and we are determined to make it there and to do so we must be looking for as many league points as possible. "
The Buccaneers would actually be in a play-off position if Mildenhall are forced to withdraw from the league, the club having recently been put up for sale and have frozen their fixtures whilst a buyer can be sought.

Kyle misses out to another Poole youngster Mancunian Kyle Howarth just failed in his bid to go one better than last year in the British U18 championship at Somerset on Friday.
Howarth looking to improve on that runners-up spot in 2009 had to eventually settle for the bronze medal as he was beaten by Poole-based youngster Brendan Johnson and the diminutive Joe Jacobs.
Isle of Wight rider Johnson, competing for the final time in this class, made the most of the qualifying system. He scored 10 points in his five rides, one less than Howarth and two behind automatic finalists Joe Jacobs and Tom Perry.
But Johnson and Howarth, the latter a faller whilst leading in his third ride, took full advantage of the repercharge semi-final to join Jacobs and Perry in the final, at the expense of the impressive Jake Knight and stylish Jason Garrity..
Then, off the same gate 2 as he had won the semi-final Johnson, who suffered life-threatening injuries last season, made a super start and kept Howarth and the hard-pressing Jacobs at bay. Jacobs was able to get by Howarth to snatch the runners-up spot admitting afterwards that he "had probably made a mistake in the choice of gates as he didn't want to get clamped on at the first turn".
Johnson was delighted with his victory claiming "I haven't been in the best of form this season so to win this is a great boost for me. I was suffering from carburettor problems early on but I kept plugging away and it came right for me in the end."
Howarth whilst disappointed not to have struck gold looked objectively at his achievement, "I thought that I had blown my chances when I tried to get off the slick stuff in the third ride only to be thrown off by the deeper dirt but I went on to make the rostrum. Of course I would have loved to have done better than last year, that was my aim, but hey I made the rostrum in the end and so it can't be all that bad".
Bournemouth's other competitor, John Resch had a fairly productive evening scoring 7 points from his five heats, including an impressive heat 15 win from the back.

Young Buccs Looking Forward to their Big Night Friday night sees a big night for two of the current Bournemouth Buccaneers as John Resch and Kyle Howarth head for Somerset to compete in the British U18 Championship
It is a competition in which Howarth finished runner-up in last season beaten by, then Buccaneer, Jerran Hart. That meeting was held on familiar Scunthorpe territory for Howarth but the Mancunian has risen considerably in stature since that meeting last September and there is no doubt that he will enter the Oak Tree Arena as one of the favourites.
Bournemouth Assistant team manager Neil Vatcher, who doubles up as a Team GB's U21 coach believes that Howarth could well go one better than last year "This is their British Final and will be great experience for these young guys and the way that Kyle has developed this season must rank him amongst a front runner for this year's title. John (Resch) too could be a spoiler at the very least, we saw how well he went in the qualifiers of the British U21s at Weymouth earlier in the year and I know that both the lads are eagerly looking forward to it. I really hope that some of the Bournemouth fans will make the trip up to Somerset to get behind the boys. I have been working closely with the youngsters this season at all levels and I have to say it is a major eye-opener. That is why I am so pleased that we will be hosting a second half event at Wimborne Road after next Wednesday's Elite league match between Poole and Eastbourne. We have 3 classes - 500cc, 250cc and 125cc - with three heats of each."
Friday's U18 championship will be covered by the Bournemouth Buccaneers' live Twitter update service and the line-up is
Kyle Howarth (Bournemouth), Oliver Rayson (Mildenhall), Ben Morley (Rye House), Jason Garrity (Buxton), Tom Perry (Dudley), Joe Jacobs (Mildenhall), Shane Hazelden (Rye House), Tom Stokes (Unattached), Brandon Freemantle (Under 15s), John Resch (Bournemouth), Ashley Morris (Dudley), Jake Knight (Kings Lynn), Brendan Johnson (Isle of Wight), Rhys Naylor (Kings Lynn), Richard Franklin (Dudley), James Sarjeant (Unattached). Reserves: Darryl Ritchings (Dudley), Adam Kirby (Under 15s).

There's No Beating Brundle James Brundle romped to his second successive NDL maximum of his brief spell with the Bournemouth Castle Cover Wessex Marine Buccaneers as the Dorset side moved to within one point of a qualifying position for the end of season play-offs
The Buccaneers 55-40 victory over Plymouth was spearheaded by a four ride maximum from Brundle who has now won all 9 league rides he has taken for the Bournemouth club. The 23 year old Norfolk born rider has only been beaten by one opponent since he linked up with the Buccaneers at the start of the month said of the whole team performance "We just have to keep the ball rolling now, we have hit a run of form and want to keep it going".
His opening 5-1 with Daniel Halsey saw the home side get off to the best possible start. the Buccaneers quickly building up a cushion of points over the Devils who had to wait until the 14th heat of the night before they could boast a heat advantage of their own.
Reserve John Resch was the only rider not to register a win in his own right but the youngster can feel justifiably proud with his performance, weighing in with a solid paid 9 whilst Dan Halsey, who suffered a harsh disqualification in heat 6, and Mark Baseby were both paid for double figure returns.
Kyle Howarth's single race win (heat 5) was a crucial one as it came at the expense of double-point seeking Nicki Glanz. With Karl Mason backing up in third place it meant that the visitors were unable to eat into the 10 point deficit.
That margin was maintained for a further two heats before Dan Halsey and Aaron Baseby clocked up a 4-2 advantage in heat 8. But the Devils weren't tempted to use their second tactical option straight away and conceded two big 5-1's in the space of the following five heats including a Brundle/Halsey maximum score over previously unbeaten Seemond Stephens in heat 10 and another Brundle inspired top score, this time with Mark Baseby in tow in heat 13
With the match beyond them, trailing by 20 points, Plymouth used Seemond Stephens as a tactical in heat 14 and he took the victory despite the chasing efforts of John Resch in second place, but with Kyle Howarth unable to prise an opening on Jamie Pickard in meant that the Devils could at least return to the St Boniface Arena in the knowledge that they had claimed one heat advantage over the Buccaneers.
Scorers: Bournemouth 55 J.Brundle 12 (3,3,3,3,3); D.Halsey 10+2 (2',FD,3,2',3); M.Baseby 9+1 (3,2,2,2',R); K.Howarth 7 (2,3,2,0); J.Resch 6+3 (2',1',1',2); K.Mason 6+2 (1',1,1',3); A.Baseby 5 (3,1,1,0)

Bournemouth Return to Wimborne Road After two successful away trips the Bournemouth Castle Cover/Wessex Marine Buccaneers return to Wimborne Road on Wednesday (28th) with the single goal of adding a further three league points to their tally
Bournemouth currently occupy a position outside of the top four places and that means that they will be looking to maximise their opportunities against a Plymouth side that trail them by two points from two more matches ridden
Team manager Garry May is keen to see his charges extend the club's 100% home record but warns against complacency "We are a strong enough side to see off the challenge of Plymouth on paper I feel but that doesn't mean that we can in any way drop our guard. They have made changes recently, bringing in Nicki Glanz and having released, somewhat surprisingly, Paul Starke and Lee Smethills. But they still have the experienced heads of Mark Simmonds and Seemond stephens both of whom will be looking to make their mark against us. We saw a superb performance from our new boy James Brundle on Saturday night and I hope that there will be a good crowd present on Wednesday to give James a huge 'homecoming' after that maximum. The two away wins have given us a boost and whilst we still need to find some consistency within the team I will be happy if we come out of Wednesday on level league points with Mildenhall"
Teams from
Bournemouth - J.Brundle, K.Mason, M.Baseby, D.Halsey, K.Howarth, A.Baseby, J.Resch
Plymouth - N.Glanz, S.Stephens, M.Simmonds, M.Bates, D.Gough, J.Pickard, B.Reade

Brilliant Brundle Banks Points for Buccs A brilliant 15 point maximum from James Brundle, Bournemouth's first full maximum of the season and their first unbeaten away performer of the campaign, ensured that the Buccaneers maintained their push for a play-off spot as they seek to defend their league title.
Brundle oozed class as he strung together five unbeaten rides against a Rye House side that began the evening 7 points clear of the Buccaneers. He may have considered himself a little fortunate that heat 13 was called back after former Rye House rider Daniel Halsey took a purler on the first turn of lap 2. At the time Brundle was being headed by Lee Strudwick but in the re-start, that was without Halsey, Brundle made a much better start and secured his fourth race win of the night.
More importantly it maintained the slender two point difference between the two sides - a level that had never been higher throughout the course of the match. It was in fact the 8th shared heat of 13, the Cobras having claimed two heat advantages, both of a 5-1 magnitude, whilst Bournemouth had countered with three 4-2 advantages.
But a heat 14 maximum return from Kyle Howarth, who became the first Buccaneer to breech the 100 race point mark with his only victory of the night, and Aaron Baseby after the impressive Shane Hazelden had crashed out, switched the advantage to Bournemouth and with 'heavyweights' Halsey and Brundle up againt a somewhat subdued guest of Jerran Hart and Lee Strudwick the pendulum had swung in the visitor's favour. None more so when Strudwick suffered machine gremlins as the riders were being called into line for the final heat. With the time allowance exhausted Strudwick, who had featured in the Cobras first 5-1 of the night which had brokenm the three heat deadlock, was obliged to go off 15 metres and also switched the gates into Bournemouth's favour.
Brundle's brilliance shone through and with Halsey alongside him the Buccaneers never gave the Rye House pairing a look in during that final heat for a 48-42 scoreline which clinched the three league points for Bournemouth.
James Sarjeant, riding in place of John Resch, had an eventful night for Bournemouth. Suffering two heavy falls in heat 2 he managed to eventually secure second place, on a Kyle Howarth bike, once the heat had gone its distance, the impressive Shane Hazelden having been harshly disqualified from the first re-run as the alleged cause of Sarjeant's fall. On his next appearance Sarjeant demolished the starting tapes to add to his woes before completing his mandatory three rides with two last places.
The Cobras went into the meeting with a somewhat weakened side and were rocked further when Ben Morley was forced to withdraw after two rides with a recurrence of an ankle injury.
Scorers
Rye House 42: S.Hazelden 11; J.Hart 10; D.Mason 8+2; L.Strudwick 8+2; T.Stokes 4; B.Morley 1+1 (Rider replacement operated for K.Hughes)

Halsey Could Hold the Key Bournemouth Buccaneers travel to Rye House on Saturday 24th July looking to build on their league win they gained at Weymouth last Friday. The victory in the Dorset derby was the Buccaneers first league win on the road this season and with the target of making the top four still uppermost in the minds a further haul of league points will give the Buccaneers the boost they need.
Saturday will see a return to Hoddesdon for Daniel Halsey and team boss Garry May is hoping that Daniel could be the key to any Buccaneers' success "Dan had a somewhat indifferent start to the season but more recently he has shown that he has turned the corner and been putting in some much better performances and riders returning to former tracks always have that extra little desire to do well. I hope that the motivation of his return will be enough to fire him up more so perhaps than anything I say to him. I am also hoping that Mark Baseby can continue in the vein that he showed at Weymouth as I was really pleased with his performance that night and it will have given him the boost in confidence that he so desperately needs."
The Cobras have called in former Buccaneer Jerran Hart as a guest for injured Jamie Smith whilst Kyle Hughes will be absent as he will be riding for Rye's Premier League outfit on the same day and with rider replacement covering for him it could just leave the Cobras a little bit exposed
The Buccaneers have a change at reserve for Saturday with James Sarjeant standing in for John Resch

Bournemouth are expected to go with James Brundle and Kyle Howarth as their selection for the NL pairs event which takes place at Newport on 7th August. The meeting will have a 2.30pm start and will feature 2 groups of 5 teams racing over 10 heats per group and then a sudden-death final. The Buccaneers have been drawn in the same group as Dudley, Isle of Wight, Newport and Plymouth, with Buxton, King's Lynn, Mildenhall, Scunthorpe and Weymouth forming the second group.

First Away Win for Buccaneers Bournemouth Buccaneers kept their push for a play-off place alive with a slender win over Dorset neighbours Weymouth at the Wessex Stadium. The 46-44 win for the Wimborne Road moved them to within 6 points of 4th placed Buxton with a match in hand and the result pleased team boss Garry May. "We came here tonight needing a win at the very least" said May, adding, "ideally we were after all four points but I will take the 3. It was a close run thing and had we not dropped some points when in scoring positions we could have come away with the lot. Our guest Jon Armstrong rode well for us. He was unlucky in the first ride when he pulled up when well positioned but his heat 15 efforts were valuable. He rode really well to keep Bekker out in that one and ensure we won the meeting."
Bournemouth broke the four heat dead-lock when Armstrong and Halsey combined for a 5-1 and preciously held on to their advantage although the Wildcats did trim it by half to make it a grandstand finish with just two points separating the sides.
The defeat leaves Weymouth rooted at the bottom of the National Development league table with just one win in whilst Bournemouth levelled with Dudley on 19 points.
Scorers:
Weymouth 44 - B.Bekker 11+1, J.Cockle 9+1, G.Cottham 9, T.Brown 6+1, L.Chessell 5+1, R.Andrews 4+1, rider replacement operated for T.Day
Bournemouth 46 - J.Armstrong 10+1, M.Baseby 8+1, A.Baseby 8, D.Halsey 7+3, K.Howarth 7, K.Mason 5+2, J.Resch 1

Under 18 Opportunity for Kyle and John Kyle Howarth and John Resch are both included in British U18 Championship at Somerset on July 30th, British U21 coach Neil Vatcher has confirmed. "This will be a big meeting for both Buccaneers" Vatcher said, "and it would be great if they could bring the club some individual success. Graham Reeve, Phil Morris and myself are working hard to provide opportunities for the British riders of the future and the U18 championship will be a good gauge and a way for these youngsters to experience the test of an individual championship. It promises to be a good meeting up at Somerset and hopefully Kyle and John will have plenty of backing on the terraces that night."

Weymouth Trip is a Must Win Bournemouth Buccaneers' team manager Garry May has described Friday night's visit to neighbours Weymouth as 'a must win if we are to be in with a chance of reaching the play-offs'.
A Bournemouth 'Select' side have already won at the Wessex Stadium this season, the only away success that May has tasted this campaign but only Daniel Halsey, Karl Mason and Aaron Baseby from Friday night's team were on duty on that occasion.
"We have only picked up away league points from one meeting so far this season, our draw at Scunthorpe" said May "and we are in danger of losing touch with the top four if we don't start putting some more league points against our name. We don't have our new boy James Brundle on Friday but I think Jon Armstrong, who has agreed to guest for us, can do a good job down there and its a track which shouldn't really cause our lads too much concern. Weymouth haven't been invincible around the Wessex Raceway this year, they have only won once in four league matches. We want to make that once in five."
Teams - Weymouth - B.Bekker, R/R for T.Day, T.Brown, G.Cottham, J.Cockle, R.Andrews, L.Chessell
Bournemouth - J.Armstrong, D.Halsey, K.Mason, K.Howarth, M.Baseby, A.Baseby, J.Resch

End of Cup Road for Buccs Despite a highly impressive debut performance from James Brundle the Bournemouth Buccaneers just couldn't quite claw back the full 13 points that they lost by in the first leg of this cup tie, losing 89-92 on aggregate to the King's Lynn Young Stars
Those 'starlets' proved to be strongly resistant to the Buccaneers' battling efforts, the visitors making the better starts for most of the night, the home side though, particularly through Mark Baseby making some telling passes to try and defend their cup honours from last season. Baseby's brother had a difficult night, spinning off twice but also battling for second places in two of his other rides, whilst Kyle Howarth also had an eventful night, switching bikes and also feeling the force of the safety barrier in one ride. But it was debutant Brundle that really caught the eye and he only dropped points in the final heat of the night when the Buccaneers needed maximum return through him and Daniel Halsey, who had been creating some good openings for himself throughout.
Brundle and Halsey had gotten Bournemouth off to the perfect start with a 5-1 over guest Jake Anderson and Scott Campos but then the resilience of the Stars began to bite and the Buccaneers found it difficult to eradicate any more of the 13 point first leg deficit, for whenever they claimed a further heat gain the visitors instantly retaliated. A magnificent effort from Mark Baseby in heat 13 for a 5-1 that reduced the aggregate gap to 3 points gave the cup holders some hope, although had the Stars invoked the tactical option in heat 14, as they trailed on the night by 10, then they could have wrapped the tie up even earlier. Instead it went to the wire but with Anderson making the best of the starts the Buccaneers' hopes of a the 'Great Escape' rapidly faded.
Scorers: Bournemouth 50 (89) J.Brundle 13+1, D.Halsey 10+2, M.Baseby 8+1, K.Howarth 7, A.Baseby 5+1, K.Mason 5, J.Resch 2+2
King's Lynn 40 (92) J.Anderson 10, A.Lowe 8+2, J.Knight 8, D.Mallett 6+1, C.McDade 5, S.Campos 2, L.Kerr 1

Bournemouth Being Spurred On by Boss In a week that culminates with the biggest meeting in the British Speedway calendar - the FIM British Grand Prix round in Cardiff - centre-stage at Wimborne Road this week belongs to the Bournemouth Castle Cover/Wessex Marine Buccaneers who face a stern test if they are to maintain their interest in the National Development League Knockout Cup.
The current holders will have to overcome a 13 point deficit from the first leg as the welcome the King's Lynn Young Stars to the Dorset venue on Thursday night (July 8th) and team manager Garry May is hoping that the desire to retain the silverware the club won last year will reign in the current crop of Buccaneers.
"Winning the cup last year as part of the double was a great achievement and sensation for us" said May, "and whilst we have a different bunch of lads with us this time around I will be working hard trying to convince them that there is no better feeling than to hold a trophy aloft at the end of season. I believe that the team we have this year are capable of doing just that, we just need to see a bit more self-belief in some of them and keep battling from heat 1 right through to heat 15. We have a new boy in the side for Thursday with James Brundle coming in to replace Chris Mills and hopefully we can use this as a launching pad for the rest of our season. It is no secret that we are losing ground on the league's pace-setters and whilst I believe that we can certainly make the play-offs a good cup run will be important for the club. Pulling back 13 points is a tough call, it becomes a bit tricky with the tactical options and that means it is even more important we get off to a good start and boost the confidence levels. It promises to be a really difficult battle but hopefully the crowd will get behind us and play their part. My job now is to get the riders in the right frame of mind and instill the belief in them that on their day they can beat anyone in this league."

Buccaneer Brundle 23 year old JAMES BRUNDLE is set to resume his National League racing career with the Bournemouth Buccaneers. The former King's Lynn, Mildenhall and Boston rider, who won Elite League KO Cup honours with Eastbourne, scoring 1 point in the final against Bournemouth's sister club Poole in 2008 has had experience at all levels of British speedway. Brundle will link up with the Buccaneers as a direct replacement for Chris Mills who has stepped back into Premier League racing with King's Lynn Stars, with Brundle due to make his debut when the King's Lynn Young Stars visit Wimborne Road on Thursday July 8th. Brundle is a regular around the British circuits as he forms part of Troy Batchelor's pit crew and speaking of his new capture Bournemouth team manager Garry May said "I am pleased that James has agreed to ride for us. He was on my wanted list and I think he will come in and do a good job for us."

Mills Moves Up Bournemouth's number one Chris Mills has accepted a place in Premier League King's Lynn side and will therefore be ineligible to ride again for the Bournemouth Buccaneers.
Under the same rule that prevented Charles Wright from riding for Buxton last Wednesday at Wimborne Road, Mills is 'frozen' out of the National League because he had a Premier League average at the start of the season of more than 4 points. The rule prohibits riders from riding in both the Premier League and National league.
Speaking of Mills' enforced departure, team manager Garry May admitted "I am sorry that we have to let Millsy go. He was a good rider for us and we were hoping that he would decide to stay National League only, along with his grasstrack and longtrack engagements. But the King's Lynn offer came up and he thought long and hard about it before deciding to make the step up in grade. Of course I wish him well with King's Lynn and it will be a tough task trying to find a replacement for him. But I am working on that and exploring all the options. Its a bit of a nightmare though trying to balance the figures but I am confident we will have sorted something out very soon. We need to have our strongest possible side in place for Thursday week for our cup match."

Battered Mason Karl Mason's failure to score at Mildenhall on Sunday from his three rides can be well explained given the fact that the rider has revealed he was suffering from severe bruisng and whiplash to his neck and back, injuries sustained in a track fall at Scunthorpe last Fridy.
"The doctors gave me a right roasting for even daring to ride on Sunday" said Mason "and I must admit to feeling a bit second hand. I have been signed off until Thursday when I have to go back for further checks. Hopefully I will be given the all-clear on that visit"
Mason's next Bournemouth Buccaneer fixture is on Thursday July 8th when the Dorset side seek to pull back a 13 point first leg deficit on King's Lynn in the second leg of the KO Cup.
Mason's team-mate Kyle Howarth continues to pick up the guest rides, he has been selected by Rye House to ride for them when they visit King's Lynn on Wednesday night. That would appear to be an astute choice of guest by Rye House manager John Sampford, clearly impressed by Howarth's paid 15 from 7 performance at Saddlebow Road a fortnight ago.

Fixture Update Bournemouth Buccaneers have made a few changes to their fixtures with their second leg of the KO Cup at Wimborne Road now being staged on Thursday July 8th. Originally Plymouth were to be the visitors on that night, but the Devonshire side will now make the trip to Dorset on Wednesday July 28th replacing Mildenhall who will now form the second part of a double header meeting on Sunday 22nd August (following the King's Lynn league match).
Bournenmouth Speedway are grateful to the management of all clubs involved in allowing these changes to be made.

Another Sunday Slip-away For the second time on a Sunday fixture this sesason the Bournemouth Buccaneers allowed a good early performance to slump into a major collapse leaving them a journey home without reward. This latest defeat, at the hands of Mildenhall has left team manager Garry May concerned that they may lose out on the play-offs "Had we won against them today, even by the minimum then we would have caught them up and began to put some pressure on the sides above us and I really thought we were capable of doing so. We were going well and keeping in check with them for so long but again we let things get away in those last few heats and we really need to be plugging those leaks. We can't afford now to drop any more points if we want making the play-offs to be in our control. I thought that Kyle Hughes did a splendid job stepping in for Millsy (Chris Mills was missing due to a prior racing commitment) and Kyle Howarth again showed what a little tigerish rider he is. John (Resch) worked hard today and was unlucky not to come away with a bigger score. There were flashes too from the rest of the lads, perhaps with the exception of Karl (Mason) who struggled big time, but as I said before we do need to find some consistency. We need to be doing that sooner or later."
Bournemouth opened with a 4-2 heat advantage as guest Hughes lowered the colours of 2009 Buccaneer Jerran Hart but they were only able to pick up one more advantage across the rest of the meeting. although they were able to keep in touch with the Fen Tigers through a mumber of shared heats. But as the afternoon wore on, and coincidentally the track watering became lesser and lesser so the Buccaneers began to leak points. A 4-2 reverse in heat 10 preceeded a spread of three 5-1 reversals, the third of which being whilst Howarth, two previous wins under his belt, was on a tactical ride. He looked as though he might have done enough to split Jacobs and big scoring reserve Oliver Rayson but a last lap challenge from Rayson saw the black and helmet count for nothing and Bournemouth left assured of going home pointless.
Scorers: Mildenhall 53 - J.Hart 14; O.Rayson 13+1; B,.Evans 9+2; J.Jacobs 9+1; L.Priest 5+2; M.Wright 2; N.Laurence 1
Bournemouth 37 - K.Hughes 12 (3,3,3,1,2); K.Howarth 9 (3,3,2,1^,0); M.Baseby 6 (2,2,2,0); D.Halsey 4 (1,0,2,1); A.Baseby 3+2 (1',0,1',1,0); J.Resch 3+1 (2,0,1',0); K.Mason 0 (0,0,0)

Dramatic Draw Bournemouth Buccaneers banked their first away points of the season when Chris Mills and Kyle Howarth played out a dramatic heat 15 finale to a meeting that the Buccaneers almost let slip totally from their grasp.
In a match littered with falls and incidents Bournemouth ran up a 6 point lead during the first two-thirds of the meeting and had the Saints, who had lost the services of Adam Wrathall reeling. But they home side were given a life-line when Chris Mills momentarily lost control on the final turn of heat 11 and from what was shaping up as a shared heat the Buccaneers conceded two points as Steve Worrall pounced. A fall by Karl Mason in heat 12 saw his disqualified from the re-run in which Aaron Baseby could only try and chase as the Scunthorpe reserves of Worrall and Birks levelled the meeting. Mills rode well to win heat 13 but Halsey lost his point scoring position leaving the scores deadlocked at 39 all.
A fall, an awkward looking one at that, for Kyle Howarth cost the Buccaneers dearly, Baseby again having to make a solo appearance . Irving and Worrall bagged the 5-1 that put Scunthorpe in control and when Chris Mills was penalised 15 metres for a tapes offence it seeemed the best the Buccaneers could hope for would be to avoid a 5-1 through Burrows and Compton. Howarth, a former Scunthorpe rider, kept them on alert and forced his way through a very small gap colosse to the boards to squeeze into the lead on the final lap. With all eyes on that move few had seen Mills make up the gtound and get into a position that allowed him to follow his team-mate over the loine for the match squaring 5-1 that gives the Buccaneers two points to Scunthorpes's one.
Bournenmouth now prepare for a tough away encounter on Sunday when they head for Mildenhall although they will be without Chris Mills for that meeting, Kyle Hughes deputises.
Friday's scorers:
Scunthorpe S.Worrall 12+4, B.Burrows 10,A.Birks 10, G.Irving 6, B.Compton 5+1, S.Richarson 2, A.Wrathall 0 (withdrew injured)

Free Admission at Scunny and Early Opening at Mildenhall Scunthorpe have confirmed that they will be throwing their doors open for FREE on Friday night when the Bournemouth Buccaneers visit.
The sides drew 46-46 last season at the Eddie Wright Raceway and another close battle is expected, with promoter Rob Godfrey urging regular fans to bring family, friends and colleagues along. He said: "The best way our fans can help us at any time is to introduce new people to the sport. Obviously this free meeting is an ideal opportunity and hopefully once people come once, see the quality of racing and have an enjoyable night, then they will return on a regular basis. Week in, week out the racing is outstanding and we have two teams who always give it everything and provide great entertainment.
"The Saints might be our development side but the race times are very close to those in the Premier League and we hope a few of the Saints’ riders will go on to ride for the Scorpions."
And on Sunday Mildenhall have advised that they will be opening their doors and bars early to allow any speedway fans to watch the England v Germany quarter final prior to the speedway.
The Buccaneers have also confirmed a fixture change with King's Lynn now being the visitors on Thursday July 8th in the return leg of the Knockout Cup, with Lynn holding a 13 point lead from the first leg.

Garrity Has A Dreamer but Buccs Hold On Jason Garrity gained a lot of admirers for his never-say-die battling efforts as his Buxton side almost ended the Buccaneers proud unbeaten run. Garrity even had the Bournemouth fans gesticulating to the referee that he had called the result of heat 8 wrong, with the official verdict being a win to home rider Daniel Halsey, Garrity only being given second place despite appearing to pass the Buccaneer ahead of the line.
The remarkable thing about Garrity's impressive performance is that it nearly went so very wrong for him before a green light had come on as he fell off his bike on the way to the start of heat 2. With the machine stalling the Buxton reserve failed to make the time allowance and on a switched bike started off 15 metres. But the Hitmen's reserve just got better thereafter and with Craig Cook looking virtually invincible - only a heat 6 fall whilst leading denying him a maximum - the Buccaneers had to dig deep in their resolve to protect their unbeaten record.
Daniel Halsey certainly pulled out the stops finishing with a paid 13 return and Chris Mills worked hard for his paid 12 whilst a win for Karl Mason in heat 12 over Garrity gave the Buccaneers some breathing space and they led 8 points with three heats remaining. Crucially that margin didn't permit the visitors to use the tactical option but when Adam Allott snatched a heat 14 win from long time leader Aaaron Baseby the Derbyshire side looked a good bet to take a point. But Halsey and Mills combined well to eliminate any threat from Allott who had ridden well throughout, allowing Cook to disappear into the distance, but denying the visitors the heat advantage they needed for any return

Buccs Face Second Place Bux Bournemouth Buccaneers' proud home record goes under severe test on Wednesday night when they host Buxton Hitmen,a team that has already enjoyed two big league wins on their Sourthern travels this year.
Victors against Weymouth and the Isle of Wight the Hitmen have lived up to their name and also registed cup victories at Mildenhall and Rye House.
It is that sort of form that has Bournemouth team manager Garry May demanding that his Buccaneers really begin to start turning in the performances that he believes they are more than capable of. "The whole side hasn't really gelled as one unit so far this year. We have seen some good individual performances but have yet been able to knit that into a complete team effort. We need to turn that round sooner rather than later or otherwise we will begin to lose touch with the play-off spots. Buxton are a very strong side and they have to be treated with respect, they are capable of getting a result if we aren't at our best"
Bournemouth lose the advantage of their in-form scorer Kyle Howarth at reserve as he moves into the team proper with Aaron Baseby dropping down to join John Resch at reserve, a factor not lost on May "With Kyle no longer a reserve we need Aaron to find some form. I think a spell at reserve will give him a boost of confidence.".

Bournemouth Go Down by 13 Bournemouth Buccaneers face a tough task ahead of them if they are to proceed to the semi-final stages of the Knockout Cup. The holders went down by 13 points in the first leg of their quarter final at King's Lynn, a result that had Garry May, team manager praising the performances of Kyle Howarth and Daniel Halsey. "Kyle was superb tonight, he rode some good lines out there and we are going to miss the option of his extra rides once he moves in the team proper. He has come on really well this season and I can't praise him enough. It was good to see Dan (Halsey) back on the pace as well. We have given ourselves some work to do in the second leg but it is not an insurmountable task"
Howarth, scorer of 14 plus one from a full quota of rides said "I really wanted to sign off my spell at reserve with a decent score and things went well for me tonight. It was important to make the starts tonight and I had a few good ones but I really missed it in heat 14 which was disappointing"
Up until that heat Howarth was improving race on race and he proved to be the spoiler of maximums for Darren Mallett and Adam Lowe whilst Daniel Halsey bounced back well after a second outing disqualifcation explaining "I knew I needed to run it wide to try and get the challenge in but I just ran it out too much. But I bounced back from that and felt more on the pace which will help my confidence which has taken a big hammering for a while now"
Bournemouth opened with a 4-2 as Chris Mills used his track knowledge after the start was delayed to allow the sun to go down and allow time for the larger than usual crowd to be admitted. But Mills was to suffer something of a nightmare return to Saddlebow Road, where he previously had spent a couple of seasons. A snapped a cam chain in heat 11 and had earlier suffered a loss of power on the final lap of heat 5 which allowed Adam Lowe to sneak in for a win. The Stars built up an 11 point lead by heat 8 which the Buccaneers then arrested through the strategic use of Howarth who appeared in four of the next 6 heats. A 5-1 from him and Halsey in heat 12 which trimmed the deficit to just 7 points. The race of the night, heat 13 saw Mills narrowly miss out on splitting Lambert and Mallett and when the Stars registed another maximum score from heat 14 it arguably put them in the driving seat for the second leg (date to be arranged), although Bournemouth responded by snatching two points bsck in the final heat for a final score of King's Lynn 52 Bournemouth 39
Scorers - King's Lynn (52) S.Lambert 12+1, D.Mallett 11, A.Lowe 11, J.Knight 8+2, C.McDade 5+1, S.Campos 4+2, L.Kerr 1

May Calls For Buccaneers to Fight Back Bournemouth Buccaneers team manager Garry May is asking his team to put their last five heats behind them and show more fight and determination in their riding as they prepare for a Knockout Cup visit to King's Lynn tomorrow (Wednesday 16th June).
"I was very disappointed in the manner in which we buckled at Newport on Sunday" said May, "as it instantly undone all the good work we had done to keep in touch with the Hornets. But then we let it all slip away in the last third of the meeting and we really cannot afford to do that at King's Lynn. This is a cup tie and it will be decided on aggregate so we must come away from there with the scores as close as possible. Let's hope that we can put those last 5 heats behind us now and get back to being competitive again."
Bournemouth were just four points behind the strong Newport side at the interval but suffered a 4-2 reverse and four 1-5's in the final five heats.
Wednesday's meeting will be the final one at reserve for the influential Kyle Howarth as he will step up into the main body of the team whenn the Buccaneers' new averages come into effect.. King's Lynn have not been invincible at home this season.
In their four league matches this year their best has been a 10 point win over Scunthorpe so Bournemouth, who suffered their biggest ever league defeat on Sunday will be hoping to put themselves in the driving seat for the second leg, date yet to be arranged.
