Jerran The Hart of the Double H-Bomb Triumph
Young Jerran Hart assured that Bournemouth Buccaneers team manager Garry May was given the birthday present he so much wanted - a victory at Mildenhall that put the Dorset side back in second place. Hart was simply suberb as he took a full quota of 7 rides and emphatically won 5 of them and with the other half of the lethal 'Double H-Bomb' Jay Herne unbeaten except for his motor along with Mark Baseby coming back into the side with a very solid performance the Buccaneers pulled off a 48-42 point win. May had said before the match that he was looking for all four points ideally which would have put the Buccaneers joint top with Weymouth but the birthday boy was happy enough with the 3 league points as Mildenhall proved to be no real pushovers. It was a difficult meeting for Thursday's cup hero Danny Warwick but he did feature in a crucial heat 13 5-1 with Hart which timely arrested a run of 5-1 scores by the Tigers both of which had featured the Tigers new signing Dakota North - a rider that had been tracked by the Buccaneers . That heat 13 result gave the visitors the upper hand and with Mark Baseby getting the better of North in heat 14 Bournemouth knew they would be returning with some reward for their efforts. Herne, having pulled up in his previous ride rode a solid final heat to hold off David Mason but Mark Baseby in third just couldn't find the pace to overcome Mason for that extra point that the boss so dearly wanted.
