The Bournemouth Castle Cover Buccaneers enjoyed another Wimborne Road points fest as they marched back to the top of the table with a resounding victory over Newport to maintain their unbeaten record of their debut season. Rarely were the Buccaneers troubled by the Hornets, a post interval 5-1 from Rutherford and Mason being the only real time that the visitors flourished. On the way to the victory Bournemouth twice deflected tactical ride options utilised by the visitors, Herne comprehensively beating Mason in heat 10 and then Atkin failing to get near Hart and Newman in the next heat. The dominance of the Buccaneers meant they could go into the final heat resting maximum man Jay Herne who won all four of his rides most impressively. Newman, the heat 15 winner would also have gone through the card had he not fallen in his first ride whilst leading. His final heat partner Jerran Hart just failed in his bid to catch Atkin in the chase to the line but Bournemouth more than satisfied with their 28 point win.
