Bournemouth consolidated their position sat on the top perch of the National Development league with a massive 59-32 away win at King's Lynn. With the home side enduring all sorts mechanical and medical problems the meeting became something of a formality for the Dorset side that had Jerran Hart unbeaten in five, Danny Warwick producing his best ever meeting for the Buccaneers, guest Kyle Hughes in splendid form and Mark Baseby denied what would have been a brilliant paid maximum on his comeback from injury had he not fallen whilst clearly leading his opening ride.
The Saddlebow Road track conditions appeared to catch several riders out in the early stages as they struggled to negotiate patches of deepness but a track grade at heat four vastly improved the surface and allowed the Buccaneers plenty of opportunity to perform telling passes when needed.
Rookie Leon Rumsey became the first victim of the tricky conditions in heat 2 as, taking an emergency role in the home side he fell and damaged his shoulder ruling himself out of the rest of the meeting. The track then certainly caught Mark Baseby out in heat 3 as he had drilled his way to the front and with nothing but daylight ahead of him he crashed out on the third turn. With Allott having already packed up Baseby quickly remounted to complete the distance to share the heat, finishing behind race winner Scott Campos and Kyle Newman.
Warwick rode a good heat 4 to get the better of Darren Mallett and with Aaron Baseby notching his second third place of the meeting the Buccaneers moved ahead for the first time. Guest Kyle Hughes demonstrated his rising potential in heat 5 with a pass on Allott but Andrew Aldridge packed up early clearly having no real liking for the venue. Warwick was kept at bay in heat 6 whilst Hart charged again from the tapes, Barracudas guest James Cockle splitting them and Bournemouth had no challenge in heat 7 when both Naylor and Mallett packed up on successive laps early on. It allowed Mark Baseby and Kyle Newman to weigh in with a 5-0 and then there was the unusual situation of both Barracudas failing to meet the first session of two minutes. Lowe, winner of heat one was feeling the effects of a crash the previous night and was forced to join Rumsey on the sidelines, whilst Naylor frantically tried to sort out his bike problems of the previous heat to take a 15 metre handicap. That was too much of a penalty and allowed Aldridge to open his account with a paid win behind Hart and extend Bournemouth's lead to 13 points.
Hart was winning again in heat 9 well supported by Warwick whilst Allott's misery continued this time trailing in last whilst wearing the black and white. That headwear was switched to Cockle in the next heat but as the only Barracuda representative it was a forlorn gesture and with Mark Baseby sprinting to yet another win the heat was shared thus protecting that huge advantage, extended by a further two with a Hughes/Aldridge 4-2 over Mallett and Naylor from heat 11.
A broken rocker cover cost Kyle Newman dear in heat 12 as the heat finished with a 5-1 reverse for the visitors but it proved to be ust a blip on the points graph as Warwick and Hughes fired in a 5-1 of their own in heat 13 to begin a string of three successive such scores to close the meeting out.
